Retired police investigator Thomas Chisholm dies
一道本不卡免费高清Thomas J. Chisholm Jr., who retired from University of Delaware Police, died Feb. 26, 2017. He was 82.
一道本不卡免费高清Mr. Chisholm held various positions at UD Police and was an investigator when he retired.
Sgt. David Platt of the UD Police Administrative Services Unit said, “When I graduated from the Police Academy, I believe Tom was in our Criminal Investigation Unit. Known as 'Chiz' to those closest to him, Tom was always friendly, outgoing and helpful to those who needed a helping hand. Although I never worked directly with Tom, he always seemed to be in a positive mood and always tried to lift my spirits. If he could tell something was wrong or if something was on my mind, he was always willing to listen.”
一道本不卡免费高清Retired Dean of Students Timothy Brooks said, "I served as dean of students at the University of Delaware while Tom was an investigator. He was a true professional and an absolutely wonderful person. He always conducted himself in an exemplary manner, and he did incredibly well with students. His smile and calm words solved many student issues. Tom constantly kept me laughing, and I really enjoyed working with him.”
Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Chisholm was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System and graduated from West Philadelphia High School. He matriculated to Lincoln University, later graduating from Temple University, where he joined the Lambda chapter of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.
After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he joined the Philadelphia Police Department, retiring as a detective. At that point, he joined University of Delaware Police.
After retiring from UD, he worked at Salem Community College as evening coordinator.
一道本不卡免费高清A father, brother, uncle and grandfather, Mr. Chisholm supported his children’s and grandchildren’s endeavors. He especially enjoyed the athletic prowess of his grandson, Seth Chisholm, whose sports teams bestowed upon Mr. Chisholm an honorary membership due to his tenacious commitment to attend every event.
He is survived by his son Craig (Alethea) Chisholm, daughter Christine (George Shipp) Chisholm; siblings Irene Williams, Janet Wilson and Samuel (Theo) Chisholm; grandchildren, Christina Chisholm, Aaliyah Chisholm and Seth Chisholm, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
